Today was a good day. Nash Huber from Sequim in Washington State visited the farm and walked around with me. Nash had dinner with us last night and saw some pictures of the farm and recent equipment purchases. He wanted to see the results for himself.
Nash Farms 400 acres of vegetables, grains, fruits and pigs. I met Nash for the first time at the first National Lavender Growers Conference in Sequim way back in 1999. It turns out that we also have a mutual friend, Elizabeth. Elizabeth helped us set up our tomato canning day.
Nash was very interested in our brush weeder which removes the weeds between the rows in our lettuce and spinach crops. He also looked at the finger weeder and took our new Sprinter delivery truck for a test drive. It was an expensive day for Nash, he went away with a list of things to buy this year for his farm. Lorraine and I are very much hoping to have a long weekend visit with Nash on his farm this summer.
It is wonderful to talk shop with someone who understands what we do here on the farm.
