The lavender harvest began last Tuesday when we shipped out the first batch of lavender for weddings last weekend. On Friday we picked for the market. The variety here is Grosso, it is the one we use for drying and for essential oil. These plants are four years old and we should get another years harvest out of them.
We have 3,000 more plants in the greenhouse waiting to go out into the field as soon as we get the beds prepared. They will be planted next to the strawberries which we are still harvesting.
