Many thanks to those members and their guests who came out to the farm last Saturday evening for our on farm tomato tasting. We tasted tomatoes and melons using a scoring system developed by Dave Wilson Nurseries for fruit. Many people said it made them pay attention to to the nuances of flavor. We hope to gather up all the scores and see which varieties did the best.
After the tasting we enjoyed organic burgers from Prather Ranch cooked by our sons Eric and Andrew. This was followed by a 'constitutional dusk walk around the farm. Many people camped and in the morning we ate tortillas and our pasture raised eggs with Pachamama organic fair trade coffee.
Visiting the farm is a great way for members to see for themselves where their food that they get in their Eatwell Boxes each week comes from.
Sunday morning saw some strawberry picking before people headed home.
