Kale

How to store: Keep in plastic bag in fridge.

How to use: When properly prepared, kale can be sweet, tender, and incredibly nourishing. A favorite way to eat kale is as follows: rinse kale and shake off some of the water (keeping some on helps to steam it a bit). Slide your knife along each side of stem to separate the delicate leaf from the tough stem. Roughly chop leaves. Heat up butter or olive oil in a saucepan or cast-iron skillet (depending on how much kale you use—–remember it cooks down A LOT). Throw in kale and some salt and stir until bright green. Serve as a side or piled onto a sandwich. See recipes for more ideas!
