Incredible Fennel At The Market This Morning

Delicious Fennel

This is one crop that loves the fertility the chickens leave behind. The size of the heads seems to get bigger every year. We heard that you love the crop, so we planted more this year. It sells very well at the farmers market, too. We cut the head at ground level leaving the roots intact. In the spring, three or more young heads emerge from the roots giving us many smaller heads for your boxes. The crop is sown in the greenhouse in late June and planted in our fields in early and mid August.
