Garlic and Lots of It

We have never planted as much garlic as we did last fall. A couple of years ago we started a garlic harvest and braiding party; some very large and beautiful braids were taken home! In fact, garlic keeps much better if you braid it and hang it to dry. While this is too much work for us to do this on the farm in June (with so many other crops demanding attention), it is perfect for a farm party.

Garlic provides a powerful flavor to any dish and has many medicinal uses. José is excited it finally rained, and by the middle of next month we should have fresh green garlic for the boxes.

This is exciting! I love garlic. When is the next farm party? I’d love to come and play with garlic/help out. Thanks.
