Jose, the Farm Foreman

P1010013
Jose first worked for us for one day in the spring of 1994, planting our original orchard. He went on to Oregon where he worked with Christmas trees for two years before returning to the farm. He has been here ever since. When Martin had to leave last spring, Jose took over as the foreman. He was always a quiet man but has the respect of the whole crew. He has grown into his new position and is doing a amazing job. He is hard-working, conscientious and obviously well-liked by the farm crew. Here he is checking and cleaning a sprinkler on beds of melons which are just about to germinate. We need to keep the soil surface moist so that the seedlings can emerge with the least amount of effort.
